Unfortunately all of the screens in this job lot are faulty in some way, some have broken hinges, most if not all have no picture, some have no picture but have sound, i think some have no sound but picture on the screen.

broken hinges - fine for our purposes
no picture, no sound - most likely good and broken, but probably good for parts
no picture but sound - either LCD panel broken (bad) or backlighting broken (LED mod!)
no sound but picture - maybe fixable?

Sounds to me like a pretty good deal for one of our European modders... although I don't know what the current exchange rate is between the dollar and the squiggly L. :P

Isn't the chip inside the screens PAL and NTSC compatible, just have to set it to the right one? I think I remember seeing something about it in its datasheet.

Someone should buy these and just sell them to people here. I'm sure a lot of them could easily be fixed...

well if you look at it, PSone screens normally cost 40-50$

thats about 18 screens, so your getting a good deal if at least 18 of them have a broken hinge and work properly!

They are PAL screens. They aren't going to work with our NTSC consoles. They are fundamentally incompatible.

Local pickup, too. You'd need someone in the UK to pick them up.

"and it supports NTSC and PAL systems" (from the AN2526NFH datasheet, the lcd controller chip inside the psone screen).

Apparently, all it takes is a change of the crystal. I don't know if there should be anything different about the LTS5QTB OSD controller though.
