Curly's N64p
Moderator:Moderators
Hi,
This is my n64p that i have been working on for about a month now. I still have to finish the case, but that won't take long.
Also i don't have enough money for batteries now but i will try and add them in the future!

Looks good, I can't wait to see the case.
Does it have speakers?
I have thought about using that screen for one of my future portables... how do you like it?

Keep us posted!!! I really love the simple, yet good looking design! I might have to steel it for myself, hahaha!
Re: Curly's N64p
First of all sorry but i can't find a link for the screen. Also i decided to remove the d-pad cause i really never use it. And as for the speakers there are none which is a shame..... And lastly i am not gunna remove the av port cause i want to be able to play it on my tv.

and yes his screen looks identical to mine Its an excellent screen for beginners; although, I think I am going to switch over to my PS1 screen for my next GCP (which I have already started working on).
EDIT: Oh I am sooo sorry! I forgot to say what a wonderful portable N64 this was turning out to be! Great job Curly!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Curly's N64p
FINALLY!! I Have finished the case for my first portable! After 2 other prototypes this one finally worked for me. I decided to make the case first out of plastic but that failed then out of steel that failed so then i tried aluminum and it worked! So that explains why the sides, the front and the back are different materials. Here are some pics of the final product !!

Re: Curly's N64p
I don't really like the case, to be honest, have you tried vac-forming for the case? It looks really un-finished to me right now...
But, really great job on making the portable itself!

Re: Curly's N64p
Aside from a few cracks and some exposed glue, I really like the front of the case. The back... Eh, could use some work. Still, great job.

Re: Curly's N64p
Yeh thanks for the tips but the main aim of the project was just to make it work, it didn't have to look good just as long as it worked. And after all the whole thing only cost me $70.

Nice job and a nice start in the portable N64 making field
Now you have the basics down and can worry about case work if you get the urge.
