Some more progress.
I have the back ready for the PS2 triggers. :
And the front controls/buttons are abs cemented in and drying :
Trying to decide on the memory card slot. Every N64 portable that has one has it external. I'm debating this myself. Because an internal one would be VERY hard to mount.
Ideas ?

I have 100% absolutely no desire for that.

Sanding hurts .LOL
More progress. Sanded down the Abs cement on the front.
Cut and added the PS1 triggers on the back.

Hmmm, it would be similar to relocating the cart slot/removing the ext port on the bottom of the n64 mobo. All you have to do is use plyers to carefully remove the port that the memory cart goes into then chop down the remaining wires on the controllerboard. Then just take apart a memory card and solder the pins directly to the pins on the controller board. I would use a smaller memory card since there aren't many games that require a memory stick. I'm planning on making the memory card internal on my next portable.

No I think he wants me to make a internal memory card slot where he can slide in the memory card or a rumble pack, etc.
Problem is it's a huge space needed for that and I'm running out of spots.

You could try finding a Tremor Pak plus. It's a rumble pak with a memory card slot built in one. There's a switch to... well... switch between the two.
If you're getting 404'd when trying to use the links in stickies, try
this tutorial to find that juicy info.

Wow, your work makes me want to finish a similar N64p, though I have to stop frying the little buggers...
Though I will admit that your control scheme while different does seem like it would be much more comfortable.
Edit: I'm mildly retarded...
