The guy said he'd make an everything thread, then the mods will delete these threads, but he disappeared.

hallelujah! Someone took my title as "loathsome spammer" :D

Seriously, I smell a gannon-ban brewing. If it were up to me, corky, you'd be gone in a second. Seriously, 10 threads in n64? IN A WEEK?! I didn't make that many in a month! (I don't think I did, anyway) There are 3 things corky would have to do in order to stay here as far as I'm concerned.

1. Get a sense of humor

2. Learn English

3. Get his head out of his a## and read the answers we gave him over and over again.

Corky, you're lucky I'm not a mod yet...[/quote]

transformers only work for AC, they need that alternating magnetic field to induce a current on the other wire (they are electrically isolated from each other, magnetism is what induces the current). if you want to step down a voltage from 12V to the 3.3V (i think) line on a power supply, look for a 3.3V regulator, preferably a high effeciency one. you also might need a heatsink for the regulator. this is what i'm going to d oonce i get to that stage.

check out http://forums.bit-tech.net for more help, thats the main forum i go on, the people there are nice, have a sense of humor, and know far more than any one person. as long as you are nice, have a sense of humor, and are willing to accept help without resorting to name calling you should do fine. the mods there don't take no crap, especially from new members

You can use them on DC...

You can make stun guns with them. You run those off a 9v battery or less.

stun guns do use a transformer, but they also have a circuit to make AC, look at the schematic of one: http://www3.telus.net/chemelec/Projects ... ngun-2.jpg

if transformers worked on straight DC, all a stun gun would need is a 1:55555 step up transformer to turn 9V to 500,000V

off topic, but i know of nothing funnier than bending the leads of a big axial capacitor down around the case (but without touching the case), charging it, then obviously dropping it in someones hood. they notice it, reach in to get it, then get shocked when their hands connect the leads
