I will be using a combination of official gamecube buttons and official N64 C buttons, most likely.

I have been working on it since yesterday morning, with the parts made by ShockSlayer having been made in 5 hours in the past week. So yeah, it is compo eligible.

:evil: well, good for you I guess, this is taking more of my compo votes by the second. I just finished wiring my portable and am currently working on a new and improved case. :wink: good luck beating my crap case in the compo :lol:

I was thinking about that earlier today. What I would do is make X the bottom C button, and Y the left one, then put the top and right one next to them. Then playing the original Smash Bros. more like Melee or Brawl.

Still working that out, any suggestions are welcome. The C button idea is good, but for games other than SSB, it would be a pain. Besides, I can still beat SSB at the hardest level with just the analog stick and the "A" button. :wink: If this were a controller, your idea is sound, but as a mostly single player machine, making a scheme to slightly boost my SSB game is not practical. :(

Right now, I am leaning towards R and Z, or Z and Start, with the normal triggers on the back. Good idea?

@SS: If the search were not broken, I could pull up a completely serious post where you were like "ZN45 IZ the ONLY WAY! NO ZN40 LOL" to Gordon. :wink:

While I don't doubt you could, all I had to prove was that he didn't do it, not that is was possible or not. Of course, at the time, no standards had been set as to the qualifications. After they were, however, then it became possible.

Course, its STILL not been done yet. :lol:

Quick question: Can I simply take my 6000mah cells and swap the protection board+battery meter+charge cable for some 4000mah cells? Would make this thing a heck of a lot easier. :lol:

I am pretty sure I can, just double checking. Thoughts, anyone? SS?

NO. The protection circuit is programmed for 6000mAh batteries, and charging 4000mAh ones may make them explode or something. :P

Oh. Shows how much I know. :P I guess it might be fine. I don't know a ton about li-ion charging. Does it measure the voltage or mAh to know when to stop charging?

going to bigger cells would probably cause a problem but i think smaller ones would be fine. also excited to see this thing done! makes me wanna work on a n64 again someday!
