Introducing the GBOsnes! aka the nintendo SuperBoy!

You read it right, i'm starting ANOTHER snes project. this one was comissioned a few months ago by a fellow here on benheck (i cant remember his name on the forum tho  ) and i finally got a good start on it after having it on the backburner for a while! so here are some pics of what i have so far, its still ugly as i just started on the shell yesterday! enjoy!

first a digital mockup by skyone!

he did it at my request after i showed him the below pics!

for those of you that are curious YES the FCtwin board will fit, and YES the SNES carts WILL fit inside the shell even with the cartslot attached! final product will probably be .25" to .33" thicker than the original GBO and the carts will be inside the shell. as of right now it is planned to have 2500mah li-poly batteries and a 3" LCD :D

Very interesting idea! I like it a lot.

One thing I'm curious about, though: how are you going to work in shoulder buttons?

Keep us posted!

Awesome! it doesn't look too bad! I had an idea for a NESBOYSP a couple years back, I made some thumbnail sketches but I could'nt think of any ways not make the case huge and bulky, anyways, good luck! I can't wait to see it when your finished! :D
i hate how electronic part suppliers give you an option on their website to filter your searches so that you can find a certain part and no results come up!

Will you be adding a 2nd speaker for stereo sound? Or are you just leaving stereo sound to the headphone jack?

This is going to be insane.I am sure that this will inspire a lot of people to use your GBO snes idea for other portables.

Those rubber membrane tact switches have caught on here now - they are great!

Looking forward to it!

I went ahead and got myself 40 actually :P
I LOVE these things!
It's nice to have a good membrane switch without too much hacky-ness.

I like them as well, but they are not rated for nearly as many presses as a tact switch, much less a real NES button (THose have lasted for DECADES).

Easy to use, but as Triton said via AIM: "lol yeah so instead of 3 decades of use it lasts 3 years lol".

Pretty much sums it up. I am gonna wait a year or two and see if these portables are still going with these buttons.
