no, this one had a grey cart door.
Thats really nice of you :) but please don't feel you have to go to any more trouble unless you want to. However, if it helps at all when using no flash I have found that bright sunlight can really help - although theres probably not much chance of that at this time of year! Also, I sometimes half cover the flash with my finger so it makes less glare on the photo if that makes sense.

it reads:
NUS-CPU (P) -02

and on the bottem off the console it reads:
nup15787038
so the CPU (P) -02 series started to appear with NUP15******
Its also worth of to note that the above console is black

I've let another n64 into my house, and judging by its stickers, it is another Canadian one.
Serial: NS122626751
Motherboard Revision: Rev 3(NUS-CPU-3 or whatever)

Black American 64

NUS-CPU-04
NS17011204

And another.

Black
NUS-CPU-09
NS297648602

The heatsinks were handled differently for each version. The first had a dedicated heatsink on each chip that was then screwed to the large metal piece. The latter had only one heatsink for the chip closest to the controllers, and the large metal piece acted as a heatsink for the other two, as it had indentions to touch each chip.

Thank you all for your responses in this thread, and sorry for my delayed reply and for not keeping this thread updated (I have just been very busy with other things recently :()

Thanks very much, I think I have an NUP155***** somewhere that has an NUS-CPU(P)-01 motherboard, so thats what I based my NUP16****** = NUS-CPU(P)-02 assumption on.

I have not yet compiled a proper list of serial numbers for PAL N64 consoles, so I have not added it to the list yet. However, I do have a few PAL serials saved on my PC and once I have compiled a larger list I will add them to the first post, so please keep those serial numbers coming!

Thanks for your serial number, but I think you misunderstood - serial numbers are unique to each N64 console, so unless you have given me your serial number previously it wont be on the serial list. If you are ever able to open your N64 though and can find out the motherboard revision please let me know and I will add it to the list  (Its probably an NUS-CPU-03)

Thanks again Mako321, you must have quite a few N64 consoles now! I have a feeling though that this particular model is actually a US console thats just ended up in Canada - so I have added it to the US list where it fits in perfectly, I hope thats ok.

US and Canadian N64's seem to be exactly the same apart from the serial number difference, even the 'black sticker' on the base is exactly the same.

Thanks very much Seven, I have added your serial to the Canadian list and it seems to be the earliest Canadian N64 I have yet heard of.

If you still have the other N64 it would be great to add that serial as well

Thanks for the two serials gamemasterful, unfortunately the first serial you listed appears to be 1 digit short? If you could possibly double check it at all that would be great :)

I have added your second serial number to the list though, and thought you may be interested to know that it is now the last/latest US serial number (Apart from refurbished consoles, but they dont follow the normal serial number ordering)

It seems to be normal for the NUS-CPU-09 consoles to have a differently designed heatsink, but its still a very interesting change.

I wonder if US systems ever went beyond serial number NS30*******, or if N64 production ended at NS29*******

Apologies again for taking so long to update this thread, I will keep coming back to it every now and then, so I would still really appreciate any new serial numbers anybody may have - just please dont be offended if I take a while to reply

I really do very much appreciate everyone taking the time to tell me their serial numbers/motherboard revisions :D

NUS-CPU-04
NS170611204

Evidently, I was avoiding sixes that day. Not a prob. I also have a clear pink one

NUS-CPU-08-1
NS291430616
(So close to beating that record!)

Thanks very much, I have added both serials to the list :D

You still hold the record for the highest US serial with your other N64 console though! Its also the only N64 console thats been reported to use the NUS-CPU-09 revision motherboard and was not in a refurbished casing.

...Out of curiousity do you know if the cartridge slot (Beneath the cartridge slot flaps) on your NS297648602/NUS-CPU-09 is grey, or colored? I only ask as the only other NUS-CPU-09 was a refurbished black system, and it used a green colored cartridge slot beneath the cartridge slot flaps.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On another note I wonder if we will ever find an NUS-CPU-06 motherboard? I have yet to ever hear a mention of this revision anywhere and would love to know if it exists.

I would also love to hear of any other NUS-CPU-07's, because so far theres only one report of an NUS-CPU-07 and strangely its serial number seems to be right in the middle of the NUS-CPU-05 range.

I guess I just expected an NUS-CPU-06 or NUS-CPU-07 to have a serial number somewhere between NS254977622 to NS270238981 :?

My n64's all have stickers on the bottom saying that they comply with all these canadian laws and whatnot instead of US ones, so I think there may be some slight difference, to help telling whether they are canadian or not, but I may be wrong.

Thanks for letting me know nachoz12341, but i'm afraid I cant really add your revision to the list unless you can tell me the serial number printed on the small white sticker on the bottom of the console?

Really? Thats interesting :? I will try and get some pictures up of my US and Canadian N64 labels, but there doesnt appear to be any difference apart from the beginning of the serial numbers starting with 'NS6' on the Canadian console.

Are these pre-owned/used N64 consoles? I only ask as here in the UK used consoles sold in charity shops often have stickers placed on them stating they have been tested for electrical safety and comply with UK laws, but these are not original stickers and have just been added by the shop. Perhaps the same thing has happened to yours? From what I have seen N64 consoles only have two stickers/labels on the bottom, one is the serial number printed on a small white sticker, and the other is a black sticker with white text that has the model number and copyright/trademark info on it etc.

The serial number labels are different on the UK and Canada ones. The US ones are closer to the UK N64's than the Canadian ones.

Hope this helps
