Why didn't you have the screen inside the case, looks plenty thick enough to house it.

Answer your question?Mario wrote:There is no room inside the case. It really is packed in there!
Anywho, Mario, this is a gorgeous-looking portable! I love the color scheme; looks very good. Also, I think having the screen on the outside gives it a hardcore look.

Yah, Kind of like how you some people make clear case, not because they're lazy, but because the inside looks awesome!!Twilight Wolf wrote:Answer your question?Mario wrote:There is no room inside the case. It really is packed in there!

I know the feeling. It's wonderful, it really is.I SO can't wait for the next 5-hour car trip. :p
Love the unit, love the pics, love your skills, love the case.
But I don't love you. Because I'm not gay. *waits for Kyo*

With 6000 mah battery, I bet he has at least 4. Good question I'm wondering too.Whit3f4ng wrote:Does it have a 5 hour battery life Mario?

Just WHAT do you mean by that?!ShockSlayer wrote:*waits for Kyo*

It does have a 5hr battery life. Let's do the math, together!
Overclocked N64 with Jumper pack: Draws 1200mA
LED Modded PSone screen at half volume: 425mA
Misc (Controller, fan, etc.): 100mA
The N64 is using a switching regulator for the 3.3v line, so the power is converted instead of dissipated in heat. So, 8.4v (Fully charged battery) / 3.3v = 2.5. The 12v line draws 110mA, so take that away from the N64's total draw: 1200 - 110 = 1090mA. 1090 / 2.5 = 436mA.
So the N64's 3.3v line draws 436mA with a perfect switching regulator. Assuming only 90% efficiency, 436 / 0.90 = 484mA. Add in the 12v line: 484 + 110 = 594mA. The N64 draws 594mA total.
So 594 + 425 + 100 = 1119mA.
I have a 6000mAh battery, and 6000 / 1119 = 5.3. All that's to say that I should be able to play it for 5 hours and 18 minutes. Satisfied?

SS and Kyo had a disagreement about something. It was a strange argument, that resulted in me posting this:Mario wrote:Just WHAT do you mean by that?!ShockSlayer wrote:*waits for Kyo*

5 hours is impressive.
Excellent

Whatthefreak?! Why did YOU post that?
And it's 5 hours and 18 minutes. Get it right, people!

Man I've been asking so many questions trying to find some flaw in your portable I haven't congratulated you on it! Nice portable! I hope this still counts even though it's belated .

Mario:
The word "you" referring to SS, in this case.palmertech wrote:It was a response to Kyo that shows why you had the "no homo" disclaimer. As far as "What it IS", it is a picture of the real Ganondorf, superimposed with the head from Gannons avatar, next to a picture that makes you look really gay, with a quote from you that also sounds really gay.

....OLD PIC OF MEEEE!!! *dies*
I like my new ones.
Oh, and I, ShockSlayer, being of somewhat sound mind, and body, hereby declare and officially give the title of "Approved by ShockSlayer" to this unit. This title, and or seal, guarantees 100% satisfaction with said unit, as it bears the symbol of the Three Golden Triangles, a subsequent group of the organization of Thunderos Maxillos, which is a division of the power that is ShockSlayer. Yep.

You fail SS, because my portable broke down.
I am NOT 100% satisfied with this product! I'm suing!
Actually, that was the point of this post. You must know how it is with portables, build them, play them, find the problems and fix them without telling anybody that anything is wrong. Well, that's what I would do, but I'm stuck on something.
Read this! I'm having problems you may be able to help with!
One thing is the batteries. They won't charge, for some reason. I leave the charger plugged in and hooked up to the battery all day (about 6 hours) and when I play the portable, the batteries last for about a half hour, and the voltage is at 6.7v. (I'm surprised the screen still runs at that voltage.) Remember way back on page 4 when I finished the pack and had a picture of it charging? Well, it charged just fine and the charge light went green, and it was never plugged in again until now. Apparently something happened in the two months I was working with it.
Does anybody know what might be causing this? I don't think the batteries are harmed because they have a hard outer shell. Maybe the protection circuit has a problem? Maybe the charger is dead... I don't know. I'll probably have to get another battery.
The other much more minor problem I have is a couple of the screen LEDs burnt out, even though I used 33ohm resistors. I don't know why, but I guess I'll just have to replace them and add another resistor.
Also, remember how I wanted to put in a wireless controller? Well, I still have those XBee things, but I also got a wireless Gamecube controller by a company called Blockhead in hopes I could hack it. When I opened it, I found that the controller and receiver both had the same chip. Check it out:
In the first picture you can clearly see the wireless chips. They're identical and have an antenna on the board. The second picture has the receiver flipped upside-down and shows it has the same chip as the controller. This thing seems easily hackable if I could find the pinout. Do you have anything for me?

It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.
