Dead Topic - Delete If Possible...

Post by Oxzgen » Fri Jul 25, 2008 2:42 pm

i am planning on making N64p similar to marshall's L64 using the vacuum forming technique.

i was just wondering if the L64 has stock heatsinks on it or if customs were put on. I was also wondering if there is a fan in the L64 case. it appears to me that there is not.

is the mobo really easy to fry? if so, could someone tell me ways to keep it from frying?

thanks!

edit: oh yeah... one more thing, how did you make the casing around the cartridge slot? with another mold?

If this is your first portable then maybe you could PM turbo tax 1.0 he did the same thing and you could use all the advice you can get!

If you don't want to fry your mobo then you can work on anti-static surfaces i.e hardwood or bubble wrap or something and you don't want to work on carpet.

well i was trying to run mac osx86 on it so i had to put in a new soundcard.

i also put in a 7800 geforce gfx card to boost my game.

so the main worry of the mobo is that it may get shocked?
thats how it frys?

i was thinkin that i could fry it by soldering with too much juice or by gettin my oily fingers on it or something like that.

Yes, well kind of, have you read around the forums, i have been reading for about 4 months now, and if you put too much voltage in it will fry it also.

btw what type of os was the computer running before you tried to install osx86, I was thinking about installing it on an asus

it was on a windows dell. since then i have installed it on my HP laptop and gotten everything xcept wireless internet to work on it.

they should make a topic listing things that may fry the mobo. and people can update it with new things. this way people can build them more easily without worrying about errors that other people made.

and when do you think you will start yours. should i wait a while b4 i start mine. i was gonna order all the things i need and then start in about 1/2 a week or so.
