a/v out question

Post by newguy101 » Sat May 03, 2008 11:36 pm

my brain is hurting and i cant seem to figure this out. on my snes mini portable ive got all my wiring done but im having a problem with the switches. im using a DPDT for the a/v out. whats the best way to wire it up so that i can switch it to use the TV and turn off the LCD so i dont waste my batteries? if you dont mind using the numbers from my diagram below it would make it much easier.

Assuming you're using a separate 7805 for the SNES and not drawing 5v for it from the screen (if you're using a PSOne screen), then really all you need is a SPST switch for the screen's power. Just flick the switch if you don't want the screen on, but the AV jacks still have a signal going to them whether you're using them or not. It won't hurt anything.

Does that make sense?

thanks for the info yet again, finally close to finishing this up. was thinking too complex and was wanting to use the switch for the a/v signals themselves when its so much more simpler to just cut the power, lol
