i sure hope it won't take that long! the thing that will take me the longest is painting the rest of it. then i just have to basically put it all together and run tests.

just so you all know, i need to take a break from this project for a while. it is just frustrating me too much. too much is going wrong. for example, today, the front of the case cracked.
i'm pretty positive it's not all going to fit together. if anybody was wanting to do the retro duo with both sides, do NOT use the zn-40 case unless you are a miracle worker. or unless you can figure out some other way for it to work. good luck with that.
so, i'm letting you all know that this is going on the back burner for a while. don't worry, i'll still figure out how to finish it eventually, but i'm too frustrated with it right now. and i've learned that trying to work on a project like this while frustrated just leads to a lot more work.
thanks for all the encouragement and help so far. sorry if this lets anyone down. but, i just don't have the time or patience for this project right now.

You got pretty far along for a first project! I blasted through about three failed projects before I got my first successful finish. Sorry to hear that things aren't going the way you'd like, but the good side is that you can take lessons learned from this one and apply it to the next project you tackle.

well, i'm not giving up completely on it yet. i will finish it at some point, dang it! i just can't do it right now. and you are so right, i have learned a ton from this project. one of the most important things? make sure to measure everything before and accurately! *sigh...*Life of Brian wrote:You got pretty far along for a first project!
