hey there.
heres the deal, im building my second psone portable(as the first was stretching the definition of 'portable')
anyway, i have a (non working) psone board and drive (needs a new 17.735mhz crystal)
im using a 7" screen (because i plan to swap out the psone with a ps2slim)
ive gutted the controller and put the analogue sticks on cable - tested, works fine
batteries, well here we go i got the batteries out of an old ibook battery (they still work fine) 3500mah ~3.6v each and wired them into 2 packs and those will be in parallel for a massive 14000mah 7.2v
it will have video out and both controller ports
pictures will come when i start the case

ok, its almost done, il post some pictures when its painted.
my first portable was the size of an xbox and made from flimsy plastic...
this one is the size of a ps2 (not slim) and made from rather thick plywood
im using a 7" screen on this one because i had it laying around, the screen is removable so it can be re-used on something that plays nice with 16:9
(the screen can show 4:3 in a little box though, so its fine for a ps1)
its heavy, thick and uglier than my ingrown toenail, but its a 'portable' playstation.
pictures to come soon.
my next project will be a gamecube( i have a gamecube with a blown power supply) it will be ripped to shreds and flattened out and put into the thinnest case i can.
i gues after that il go all out and build the psone in my avatar, i now have access to cheap 3d printing so i should be able to make a custom case

That will result in 14000mAh and 3.6V.. unless there are 4 batteries..batteries, well here we go i got the batteries out of an old ibook battery (they still work fine) 3500mah ~3.6v each and wired them into 2 packs and those will be in parallel for a massive 14000mah 7.2v

double post,
the paint still needs work, but its almost done
here are some pictures of this beast
(i hope they aren't to big, these are shrunk to about 30%)
ive begun designing my next portable, a gamecube, flattened out, something that will actually benefit from the 16:9 screen
then i may upgrade this portable with a ps2 slim board (yes theres room)
ps: can i has portablizer now? plzkthx
