Funny how the help pours in after you have it working.
You can safely remove the fuses with a soldering iron
Even a 15 Watt iron will lift them, and the pads can be
bridged with solder (harder than lifting the fuses).
The wires are sloppy, but only dangerous to the psone
if one end pops off and touches something else like the RF shield.

for "psone fuses", and the following info might help someone else:
My psone had a slightly different board, but the identification
printed on the board for the fuses is similar.. ie. 'PS001', etc.
There are only three of the smaller fuses in the location pictured.
Remember that gaming is the absolute ass end of the computing industry,
and gamers are the lowest form of life that use PCs.

turbotax there are five fuses on the motherboard of a psone
to figures out whic one to by pass what i did was just solder a wire from one end of the fuse to the other powered it up and if it didnt work i would take it off
i did this for all five fuses until i found the blown fuse
