Snes v1 trouble/portablizing thread
Moderator:Moderators
Alright, I got a Snes from a friend, along with the power cord and Super Mario World. Since I don't have the AV cable, I tried taking it apart and soldering another AV cable directly to the contacts using this as a guide.

I finished soldering it, I hooked it up to the Tv, switched to the right channel and nothing but a black screen, did I miss something or is the Snes just broken?
Edit: It turned out to be broken. When I buy a new one that I know works I'll bump this

Hey Valium, in my thread about the v1 SNES, I posted some pics of the cable in the SNES and the pinouts that should work I think. If you want to take a look here is a link:

i havent tried soldering anything yet, but my connector works. i tried it a couple days ago, Mario Paint anyone? lol. i just took the outer casing off last night though.
edit:
i just checked. their pinouts (on that website) for ground are 5 and 6.
mine are 7 and 8.
on my pic, 7 is the video (yellow) ground, and 8 is the audio (red AND white) ground.
btw, my cable only has the 2 grounds and the audio and video. 5 connectors in all.
connector numbers:
1,white
2,red
4,yellow
7,black (ground) for/from yellow (video)
8,black (ground) for/from BOTH audio
hope this helps.
