XZ64

Found the batteries to use!
Here!
High Power Polymer Li-Ion Cell: 3.7V 10 Ah (9759156C) , 50A drain rate
$106 for the two of em' after shipping, before tax...
That sucks... Oh well!

What I need eh?

  • Get screen
    Get 64
    Get controller
Get DC-DC converter and needed components (I got it for free! WOO! I also have the capacitor and resistor no problem.)
    Plenty of ribbon cable
    Case (see above)

    A/V jacks
    Battery pack
    Switches
    IDE cable(s)

    Desoldering iron
    Expansion Pack
Tremor pack (the kind with built in memory and rumble)

To do list thingy...
Desolder Power Plug
Desolder Multi plug Video Thingy
Relocate Cart Slot
Make the power circuit (with the dc-dc and the capacitor etc.)
Wire it all up to batteries
Desolder controller ports
Split controller
Hook controller up to console
Relocate controller ports
Wire up the composite video connections
Hook up the A/V jacks
Put it through rigorous testing (play LoZ OoT for a few hours...)
Make a case
Put it all in the case
Test it for a few more hours
Smile Image

yep good luck, I will garentee that you will break 1 N64 before you build a sucseful n64p, like ben said, the N64 will break even if you look at it the wrong way.

1 n64?! No way. More like 5.

It is better to build an easier portable first if I were you... Try a nes.

Oh let him do what he wants. I know you're trying to help, but it drives me nuts when someone discourages someone else from stuff like this. He wants to do an N64, so let him. Now if he was being silly and saying he wanted to make an XBox 360 laptop for under $200 then I'd understand...

he isnt trying to be mean or discouraging he is pointing out the fact that N64s DIE EASIER THAN ANY OTHER SYSTEM THAT I HAVE WORKED WITH, you will kill at least one if not MANY. its best to start smaller, heck even ben killed one or 2 i think

A later day vskid, a later day...
But hey, the trading post isn't going anywhere

Who knows!

Although don't expect anything, I don't want anybody to get anxious for classic systems and games for less than the price for shipping

I know...
I work there...

I'm happy :D

They're about $18 each, less than my PS1 screen, which was still only $24.
woah lucky i was making a pal n64p but i got fed up after breaking 2 mobos luckily i got them cheap as hell at the market. ill make you a deal though if i design your case and you like my design and use it would you sell me an n64 and ps1 screen?

Well IDK,
I like the idea of asking Ben to design me a case, plus we only come across 2 or 3 of those screens a year ()

I wanted to start this project almost 4 months ago, but I wasn't going to start until I actually got a ps1 screen, and I didn't want to spend $45 - $100 on eBay...

I'm in no way planning on selling any N64's or screens...

I just want to make me one FrEaKInG aWeSoMe portable N64!

In fact, I'd kind of like it if people would kind of stop with questions about cheap 64's and stuff while we still can,
this post is about my XZ64,
not selling stuff,
that's what my 4th favorite part of the forums is for! (the trading post)

A later day for the trading post...

I've fried 2 and lost 4(by dropping, trading, or braking)

DONT GIVE UP!

I spoke to (insert grand figure of your liking here) and he responded!

He said he wouldn't design me a case...
Then I saw the new post on the front page of benheck which was almost like a slap in the face, although I'm sure it wasn't related :?

Aw well, I'll keep making attempts on my own, although so far Inkscape hates me...

Ben recommended checking here on the forums for someone who'd vacuum form me a case, which is tempting.

As for now, I won't worry about a case!

As I've read, heard, been told, and been yelled at to get the parts, then the case.

I bet I could make a 360 laptop instead, I could do it for under $200!!!!!!111

... That was supposed to be funny... But it wasn't... I need money...
