Post

I'm pretty sure my N64 is dead. im inputing the right voltage in the right slots, I checked all 11 fuses on the console. all that happens when I turn it on is the power LED comes on and the video and audio on the TV its attached to spike, that is, the screen flashes once and the speakers click... then nothing. is there anything i havent tried?

you probably blew it, the n64 happens to be the easiest console ever created to fry something in. By the way welcome to the forum.

does the LED stay on?
is there a catridge in? forwards?
is there a jumper pack in? forwards?
what voltages are you giving it? where?
check the board for small pieces of metal that are shorting out pins of chips (this happens to everyone at some point).

Also try this: remove the game and turn it on for 5 seconds (then turn it off). Put the game back in and try again. If it works, you probably removed the expansion/jumper pak recently.
