Does a common ground N64 controller exist?

I'm looking for an N64 controller PCB to hack into a project box for an arcade stick, but I haven't yet found one that is common ground. Does anyone know of an N64 controller that is common ground?

Uh, all controllers have a common ground.

When I say common ground, I'm referring to all signals sharing the same ground line, so I could wire one ground line for all the buttons/directions when connecting the PCB to the joystick via DB25 cable.jjhammerstein wrote:Uh, all controllers have a common ground.

According to the schematics I've seen for the N64 controller, it's got separate ground lines. I want to wire the signal from each button/direction input to a DB25 plug and then run one ground wire from the PCB to the DB25 plug.jjhammerstein wrote:Yep. And?

Ground is common on an n64 controller, there's only 1 ground wire going to the n64 console from the controller.

There are three pins on the N64 controller port: Power, Data, and Ground.FrakkinToaster wrote:According to the schematics I've seen for the N64 controller, it's got separate ground lines.

If I soldered the buttons/joystick to the corresponding signal spots and a ground wire from the spot next to the 3.5v spot, then plugged the PCB into the N64, the joystick will function properly?

Those grounds all go to the same place. They are all the same ground. They all go through the same ground wire to the console.

Re: Does a common ground N64 controller exist?
all of the grounds go to the same place. there's only 3 wires so there is obviously only one ground. if there were multiple, then there would be 12 or 13 (maybe) ground wires which is pretty ridiculous. so stop over analyzing it, and just do something.
