7.2 volt 3000 mAh battery

Would two 7.2 3000 mAh batteries work to power an N64 portable? I saw streth's psone and was wondering if two of those would power the N64 and Gamecube screen.

The Gamecube screen takes 12V, right? It should work with 14.4. If you're worried, put a regulator or a couple of diodes before the screen. The N64 needs a 3.3V line too, so you'd need either another battery or a hefty DC-DC converter.

I was going to use a 4.8 volt rc battery with a DC converter for the system power. What do the holes on the N64 power connection thingy each mean. Also I was thinking about building a docking station that would be able to power the system through an outlet while the batteries were charging. What I was thinking was spliting wires off the 6 pin power thing to a pin connector and then I would get the same kind of connection connected to the regular N64 power supplier built in to the docking station. Would this work or what do I need to do to get it to run off an outlet while the batteries are charging?

You'd need at least an 18V power supply to charge those batteries. Search around for DIY battery charger help. Make sure your DC-DC converter can supply enough power at 3.3V. Search for "n64 power pinout" or something.

While I was planning on taking the batteries out while it was in the docking station. I just wanted to make sure that I could power that system that way. I can power it that way right?

Probably. I don't know how sensitive the N64 is to overvoltage. Put in a regulator or, ideally, a 12V DC-DC converter to be safe. Then you'll be able to charge the batteries while running the system. Just be careful not to overcharge the batteries.

I was planning on using those 15 min. rechargables. I'll put a regulator in the docking station I think so that the system doesn't get fried. I don't really want the docking station to charge the batteries if I use 15 min. rechargables and rc batteries. I just want it to power the system while the batteries are charging in their station thingy. Does anyone have the power pinout or know where to get one. I didn't have much luck finding one.

How many volts would the system need from the docking station just to power just the system?

So, you want to pull out the batteries and plug in an AC adaptor? Then you'd need 12V and 3.3V. Why not use the stock power adaptor?

That's what I want to do I just want to make sure spliting wires off the plug to an extra one I have will power the system and system alone. And won't fry any thing inside.
