Wire Question

I took apart the PSX Duel shock controller today. I striped the wires at the beginning of the controller. Then the copper wire just feel out.I was wondering if I'm going to need this or not. Also is it possible to solder back on the those things that cause the shock. Mine fell off and I'm hoping I can find the right spot to solder them on.
