When talking about ICs, "latch" and "relay" are very different things. A latch will not do what we want.

According to Google, there's no such thing as a "bidirectional analog latch" OR "bi directional analog latch".

...Why not take a look at the guts of one of Ben's Ataris and go from there? I'm sure SOMEONE here has bought one of his units...
