what about the reset button?

i just read/skimmed ben's book and i am concerned about what appears to be a lack of a reset button. for anybody who has completed a nesp: how does this affect games like zelda or final fantasy? can they not be saved?

The reason why Nintendo says to hold the reset button in on the console while turning it off was that sometimes you would get a flaky switch. If the switch flickered on and off, then you could potentially cause a power spike in your nes, which in turn could ruin your battery and/or the RAM backup chip. If you switch on the unit is good, however, you should have no problem. Just make sure you don't quickly flick it on and off.
