Hey everybody. I know this is a noob question...I'm making an atari 2600 portable and am finished(finally). Small problem. everything seems to work fine except that when i slide the power switch to shut it down, suddenly the batteries start getting hot. I don't want to fry everything after so much hard work, so can you point me in the right direction?
I have the switch wires going from the battery pack to the switch and the battery ground to the other switch terminal? Is this the problem? Should I be using the ground on the bottom of the atari board instead? Sorry if it is a dumb question. It's only my second mod.

Re: atari 2600 Power question
I'm not sure I understand how your switch is wired. You have the positive terminal of the battery leading to one switch terminal and the ground on the other? How many terminals are on the switch? Do you know if it is a SPST or DPST type switch? Can you post a picture of your setup?
