It's about time...

I found a relatively small button which is the same style I think you are looking for. its a momentary contact pushbutton. I have no clue what that means. I havent really dealt with buttons, other than hacking existing controllers and basic buttons. the depth is about 1.28 inches.
its here:

they also have normal buttons, but they are 2.61 inches deep.

It's ended up being a long tomorrow. Anyway, I thought I should describe what everything is, since I only have the holes drawn in besides the design stuff in black
<IMG SRC="http://www.doomportables.org/images/2600spdesign.png" ALIGN="RIGHT" BORDER="0">
Hole for LED ->
Cart slot ->
Hole for paddle fire button ->
Control pad, hole for paddle, hole for fire button ->
power/select/reset buttons ^
Sorry I couldn't do a better job explaining what's what, and the diagram only works well at 1280x1024 (yeah, I know) but it should at least give you an idea. I've also loaded the adobe .psd at doomportables so if anyone wants to make a suggestion, they can and actually show it, if they want. All I ask is to not change the size of the parts, if anyone does anything to it, since I have it all at just the right sizes. (it's not like you could change what's up there, but if I don't notice something that was changed, I might have to buy a whole new case)
Any suggestions welcome, positive or negative

2: where did you get the brushed alumium

1: I am probably not going to have a screen, but I may make it so I can put my pocket tv on in a detatchable way
2: not using that, either. Varnished wood, baby!

I put it in the laser, put a board on top to make sure it would be in the right place before the actual engraving, like I mentioned, and I had it right after a couple of tries. I then took off the board and did the real thing, and it was HUGE! Most of the design was cut off (only a quarter remained on the case itself) Back to the beginnning, I guess.
Just kidding... it was almost perfect... it would be nearly impossible to do any better
