portable nintendo project battery conversion question

Post by telepathetic » Sun Jun 24, 2012 11:03 am

Hi I've built a handheld Nintendo into a clear pvc case with an old psone screen. I've already done all the hard stuff, so it works perfectly right now I jus still have it with its power extensions out so I have to plug it in. I've left plenty of room for a battery in side. So here's my question I have a Milwaukee 28v Li-on 3.0ah what could if use to bring it down to my desired 9v. I already have the 7805 regulator in place on the board to bring it down to the 5v the system needs to run. I chose this battery pack because I can pigtail an extension and use the current charger I have for it, and the battery has a voltage meter on it so that always good. Let me know thanks a lot.

You're going to need a switching regulator that can handle that kind of power.
