I understand that it blinks when it's not working. But why does it turn off when it works.
(when I say fades; I mean disappears entirely.)

Unfortunately I have no way of testing it. As the consoles fried. [All I get is purple lines when I use it on RF, when I use AV the screen flashes then goes blue.]
