I wanna get this straight with wiring buttons

Post by brandonk318 » Fri Dec 04, 2009 11:20 am

Ok, I am at that point that I am gonna start wiring the controls for my nesp. Now I wanna get this straight. I wire each button with two wires. One wire goes to the ground on the ic and the other to the appointed part on the ic( which also has a resistor). This is what I am confused on. Do I have to have the orginal controller board or can i desolder the ic and place it on one of the pc boards ( where I am gonna put the d pad, start, and select buttons.) My nesp will look very much like from Ben's book ( the hand made one) but I just want the start and select button with the dpad just like the game boy advance.

Yes, you can use the IC on a pc board. As long as you remember the resistors, it will work fine.
