any pins on the NES Cartridge never/rarely used?

There's a bunch on there that are for the lockout chip--these don't get used on anything but the original NES. So they're generally useless.

I can't confirm this, but if you use a NES with a modified lockout chip (pin 4 lifted) it may not need it either. In addition to the 4 lockout chip pins, there are 10 pins that go directly from the cartridge slot to the expansion connector.
These 14 pins aren't even present on the famicon connector.
