You sure the batteries can supply enough current? They should be able to, but you never know.

Oh, and I found out the screen was really just dimming a lot, not turning out.

Hey Nevermind, I thought the RES only required 6v?

I think I'll try the connections again, and see if that's where the problem lies. It was working fine before I got to wiring it up, so I don't see why it would break now.

Also, a little off topic, two questions:

Can I relocate the RES cartridge slot?
And can I leave the system connected to the controller ports and power switch end of the board, or will that have to get rewired?

Thanks again! :mrgreen:
Double post, sorry, but would this be the same as the RES?
Atleast the casing seems exactly the same, but how about the insides, and the quality itself? As good as the Retro Entertainment System?

The screen has a 7805 linear regulator, right? Therefore, it needs at least 7.4v or more to operate correctly.

Sorry, link failure.

A Yobo like this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009A ... -1&seller=" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I hear it's the same as a Retro Entertainment System, is this so?

The Yobo FC and RES look very similar. The RES has a different board than the Yobo, but apparently new Yobos have the same board.

No, the RES requires 5 volts, which is you have removed the AV daughter board you'll no longer have your 7805.
Emulation isn't accurate. There is no substitute for real hardware!

That made no sense ^^^
Just get another 7805, and use a 7.2 or 7.4v battery.
