Why not make a Famicom Portable you could use a NOAC or a real one. The games are smaller than nes games. And most of them are cooler.
The reason is I'm sure few of us on the board (myself not incuded) can read japanese, the cart are smaller as the case is smaller. Nintendo in there wisdom choose to give us not just a bland looking system but big ass carts, seems funny when most of the games occupy only half the space max.

I am a geek.
If you really wanted to play japenese games you could get a family com converter. I guess you could do a famicom cd system sense there isn't an english version of it that I know of. I could see maybe doing it for the super famicom sense they have that satelitte system where you could download new games. So unless you can read japenese or figure out what's happening it's not the best idea.

I've had an adapter for a while, since BEN even figured out how to get them from the game cartridges, as well as a wiring diagram. I plan to put the Famicom connector in parallel with the NES connector on a Game Genie, making the first Famicom/NEs compatible with a built-in Game Genie.
I have all the supplies needed, including 3 Famicom carts to test it with. ^_^ I just have to get off my duff and make it.

Warranty-Voiding fun!
