Tricky Ebay Famicom Clone

Post by Torokun » Mon Apr 14, 2008 2:08 am

My first post here...

(I actually posted same message couple of days ago but I think it got lost in the middle of the forum switching servers or something...)

I ordered Retro Duo from Amazon seller for about $42 including shipping. After purchasing RD, I looked for the original Famicom on ebay since I always wanted one. And I found one for $19 (another $19 for shipping) brand new!. So I purchased it for $38.

After I won the item, I noticed that it says "(not branded, not made by Nintendo)". -_- Thankfully the seller returned the money and I canceled my order.

I was just wandering... Have you guys seen this Famicom clone?

I am assuming it's an NOAC clone device... It can't be a copy of original Famicom... right?

Here is the original link.

I have seen it before, I believe there was an article of it on the nesword website's pirate gear section, but since that site has had an update there are only two clones left..

I love that clone stuff, they steal all kinds of designs; If I remember well this one was made by mastergames, they also made fake 60 and 72 pin NES's that look like a SNES, PSX or N64..
I have a couple of them; apart from being rubbish made from Chinese plastic, the connectors are usually much better then the blinking-problem stuff on the regular European and American NES, not every game works though (like all NOACS).

I'm going off-topic, but I agree, this can be a tricky one...

Just keep in mind when searching; The original famicom has FAMILY COMPUTER on the front and not VIDEO GAME.. (and says: Nintendo)

I saw an article about this online somewhere. I heard it's a NOAC with 6 games in it.

Is that in reference to that one eBay seller who could not have said "This is an empty box" many more times, and he still got something like $600 for it?

I laughed so hard at that. No offense, Torokun. But at least you didn't bid on an empty box.
