NESP Alternatives.

Here's a new alternative that looks pretty nice. Of course, as usual, you're going to need a nes-famicom converter for this.

Do you know if it uses the GBA SP for controls?
I looked around and couldn't find the answer.

If so then it could be the easiest portable to ever make, just plug it in and there it is.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure that it does, the only thing that it doesn't use the sp for that I know of is audio. It has its own speakers. Also, you should be able to take it out of its case and use it in a normal gba.

In that case this makes the NESp real easy to make. It kind of takes the fun out of portablizing though.

yeah, but for the people who just want to buy a portable, it's pretty nice.
Although, I would still rather make my own.

I just wonder if you can use it as a normal console and hook it up to a regular TV?

I suppose, It gives information along the same lines as a gba cartridge, though, if you were going to do that, It'd just be easier to buy a power joy or a super joy.

Not bad, especially the name. However, it does take the fun out, and you can't add extras like in a portable you did yourself.

Rather than creating a new topic, I'll just mention this here: the e-reader code has been cracked. NES games can now be loaded onto a gba in little cards. This is another thing where it is fun to make it yourself, but it is good for those who cannot solder but want to make something portable theirself, even if you use the term loosely.

Time Machine: It looks good, but it would be incredibly clumsy with American NES carts, I'm sure. And the screen's too small for NES games. Making your own portable is most likely better overall, except in cost, I would jest.

Meh... the link doesn't work anymore. I dunno what to make portable, a spare NES or a Power Joy. I want to do the Power Joy, but the only thing stopping me is that I don't know how to wire in a controller, that and I don't have a TV to mount onto the power joy to make that portable, all I have is the psone screen. The only thing stopping me on my NES is that the screen pulses when ran off of 7.2V, and the PSOne mini screen doesn't like anything above 9 volts, and the next step up is the 9.6V battery. What's your suggestion? because i'm stumpified.

Get a 12 to 7.5 volt adapter, i.e. playstation car adapter. Use 12 volt battery and drop that to 7.5. Or you could use this 8V voltage regulator....

or this 9V one...

hope this helps!!

nes and ps1 lcd both use 7805 regulators so you can use any dc voltage between 7.2-25V.
