Re: P-NES Mark2
Well, that's enough of that eh?
Time for some update pics! yaay!
Our story begins with the removal of the RF unit...
Then, I completed the LED mod...
After that, I removed all the dials and pluggies on it, and attached extention wires for them. BUT THEN, the board then revealed it's aweful plans! I had to act!
I had to call upon the help of my ally; Mr. Grip tool! Which quickly thwarted the evil boards plans.
Here it is, with all it's plans thwarted! As in, with the dials attached to the extention wires.
I then decided to wire it back up quick to make sure that it would all work...but wait...something was wrong! It wouldn't turn on! Oh noes!!
'twas an easy fix tho...forgot that since the external jack was dissconected, it made it think that something was plugged into it. Just plugged the plug bag in for the time being...Everything checks out, so no problem here.
And that's the story so far...
In the next episode of PNES::MARK2...our hero begins his battle against the controller forces, and begins the campaign into the dark depths of the case territory!
...NEXT EPISODE: The controller wars begin..and end!

Re: P-NES Mark2
UPDATE YAY!
For your reading pleasure, I've made this update in the form of a comic!
Had to remove those pesky av/power plugs from that board.......
Those plugs on the AV board were unusually difficult to remove for some odd reason, hence this comic
--and yes, that is a real assault rifle I'm threatening the retro-bit with
Stay tuned for the next part....which involves controller activities!

Re: P-NES Mark2
Just a quick update!
With the death of the screen, and my inability to find a screen that will work the same way as the original, I've decided to pickup one of those 3" Dealextreme screens instead. Since it lacks audio and what not, I got myself a little 1 watt audio amp delee (just the kit, as I figure the PCB-ness will help keep the size down).
As can be seen here, I changed up the parts positioning just a bit...cut the total height down by about 1/8" by setting it all down this way. I also didn't use the pot that was provided in the kit, opting to recycle one of the ones from the smoked screen, since they both provide the same resistance, also cause the dial from the screen is a dail, and is very flat when compaired to the one originally for the kit. Also, the LED is only there as a temporary power indicator, it'll be removed once it's ready to be put into the PNES Mark2 case.
Giving it a little test run here using my frypod for the audio source. Also in this test, a little 78m05 regulator to provide the 5v needed to run the unit

A little off topic, but I'm guessing "Project Numbers" is either a portable Jaguar or 5200. If it's not one of those, it's a Colecovision or an Intelevision.
