Hello, I am planning on making a portable wii and I have a problem, I am designing a sensor bar and I can't figure out what kind of led to use. I have tried flashlight leds and they aren't working at all. I am near a radio shack so if i know what to get, I will get it. P.S. I also need to know what kind of battery to use.
If life gives you lemons, sell them on ebay.

You need IR LED's. Wiimotes only detect IR light.

Re: Portable wii sensor bar question
I Agree it is Most reliable.
Now all led emit IR light. Matter of fact all light emits IR. Exept uv and flashing ones.
Now i recomend 3.4 volt IR leds get 3 incase you acidently burn out one. Next get 3
3-4 volt zener diodes. Put them in backwords. Get a 100 ohm 1/2 watt resistor an put it in there
Connect it like this:
----<resistor> ---------|
|_______
----<-|Zener|+ >-----------------==========(-|IR Led|+)
you get the idea right?
