Hi, I have an xbox laptop, and am going on a small holiday in the car, I am wondering if the vibrations of the car would cause any harm to the xbox 360? I will put a cushion underneath it to protect it but will this be enough?
Thanks

When you made your laptop was there any bit that were a bit loose or is it smothered in hot glue when you
made it? If it's stable it's good to go (don't smother the vent with the cushion ;D)
iHackedit is awesome!

Re: Xbox 360 laptop vibrations, and long journey?
hi, yeah everything is hot glued down, and screwed down. I have done the car journey, i wrapped it in a rug and put it on cushions.
It seems to be working fine now.
But will long term vibrations cause solder joints to become loose under the cpu, gpu or memory?
Thanks,
Seb Smith

No. Your biggest concern will be the Disc drive. So long as you ply games that are downloaded you won't demolish any of your games.
Hackify me cap'n!

Re: Xbox 360 laptop vibrations, and long journey?
thanks for that humakabula! Also, i was wondering if the xbox laptop would be very sensitive to movement while it is on. If the dvd drive is spinning would the disc scratch? Also would any movement while it is on affect the hard drive? I think these are the two most vulnerable parts, am I right?
Thanks for the help!

If you play while it's on, the hard drive should be fine. I wouldn't have a disk in the drive though, just to be safe. Even if it is ripped to the hard drive, the disk would still need to be in the drive.

You can add 'bumpers' to the inside of the dvd drive to stop the disc from scratching.
heres a tut i just made up for it
1.
find some sort of fabric that has a sticky residue on one side, make sure its not too thick- no more that 1mm
2.
remove the dvd drive and take it apart, you want the top half of the metal casing so set the pcb and the bottom half aside
3.
look at the inside of the drive casing, imagine its a clock, now cut up the sticky fabric into little pieces, about the size of the stock xbox 360 case 'feet'
i.e. these things:
4.
place the now cut sticky fabric pieces evenly around the inside of the dvd housing, at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 O'clock positions.
(if you get confused about how far out you should place them from the spindle get a cd and place it on the spindle for reference)
5.
screw the dvd drive back together and put it back in the laptop
