Using a battery with a wii

Post by SNESGuy2 » Tue Dec 14, 2010 8:44 pm

I'm trying to make a wii portable (probably a very crude one) with a psone screen. The batteries i have are a 8.4v Nicad at 8400mAh, a 7.2v probably a Nicad at what i think is 7200mAh, and a 12v lead acid at 2300mAh. What batteries should I use to power this contraption (If that's what you want to call it) and how should I use them?

IIRC you will need 12v batteries. The Wii won't start up with less than 12v

If you're saying use the 12v lead acid to power the wii then how do i power the screen?

No I wouldn't use the lead acid. It's very inefficient. I personally would use a 12v Ni-cad or a 14.1v Lithium Polymer. Then use a switching regulator to run 9v to the screen.

Llo. I made my wii battery powered with a battery from a portable DVD player and it lasted enough for me to play sonic unleashed from Maryland to
Myrtle beach south Carolina. I played it on a black and wite portable tv. I would buy a remote control car battery from radioshack.

Hi, I was wondering, would three rechargeable 9 volt batteries be strong enough to power a WII and a sensor bar. My screen already has a battery. If not, how many would it take?
If life gives you lemons, sell them on ebay.
