when i put any game cd or movie into my ps3 it does not show up. why? i have done some research and it seems the most common thing is the eye in the blu ray player going bad. what other possible things could it be.
i also have a backwards compatible ps3 that does no show an image at all any ideas what might be cuasing this

Bad laser. Find your model and get a replacement off Ebay.

Yeah laser is probably bad. Does it sound like the drive is spinning up at all? The ps3 drives can also go bad. You can get a new one on ebay. I think they are around $70.
