Xbox 360 laptop hd

Post by DarkReaper4786 » Sat Jul 31, 2010 12:19 am

Okay so I have a external hd http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/produc ... eagent_go/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I have the 500gb one. I know all about the file system the xbox needs in order for this to work. I transferred all my stuff from my old xbox onto it and put it on my slim. I noticed that I didn't even need to transfer anything to the new slim hd. My question is could I put this one in place instead of a xbox hd. I am a noob so take it easy on me. I'm working on this laptop with a tight budget, so any help would be great.

the short answer is NO.
the xbox HDD uses a custom FAT 32 format called FATX when the usb drives are reformatted to Fat 32 then adds a XTAF (custom storage files for the xbox (like zips)).
when the xbox formates a usb they limit the size to 16GB
It would be nice if some one found a way to modify the XTAF files so you can get more space on them (remove the 16 GB limit)
