You kinda chose the wrong forum for this question. It really depends on what you're referring to i.e. power consumption, games, hardware, network, etc. It's all which aspect of gaming you prefer.

Wii wins for power usage and size, games are a personal preference, 360 and PS3 are pretty much even for graphics (with the Wii sitting by the original xbox for that), 360 has the worst hardware longevity, PS3 has free online, 360's online is arguably better but costs, Wii has had the best sales.
If he thinks the Wii is better than the 360, it's probably because of the wavy around controller. Which is the opposite for me, if everything but the controllers was equal between the two, I would rather have a 360. Wiimotes are the best choice for maybe 20% of games, but they are the only choice for almost all of the games on the Wii. If there were more games that supported the classic or GC controller, I would probably like the Wii a lot more.
My family owns a Wii, and my brother and I have an E74'd 360 (I have to get around to fixing that).

i am lucky enough to have all 3. i try and play the ps3 and 360 equaly because both have awsome exclusives! the wii prety much collects dust because i hate the controller 
but there are a fiew rare games that i play on the wii. punch out was awsome! but if i had to choose i would say the 360 but thats just me. different strokes for different folks!
