So, dc-dc converter came in 4 weeks after I ordered it. But...doesn't work with the wii..supposedly can supply more than enough amperage, so not sure what the issue is.
Going straight from a benchtop dc power supply I can get it to boot up with 12.8V at the lowest. But it's not really a clean supply, and for some reason gives me a red/orange mixed power off led rather than the standard red....so odd :P I'll do some testing on the wii psu itself later and then check over the parts info for the dc-dc converter I have. Also still no luck with the battery :/

It could be interference from the boost regulator. Try adding some capacitors on the output.
