So, dc-dc converter came in 4 weeks after I ordered it. But...doesn't work with the wii..supposedly can supply more than enough amperage, so not sure what the issue is.
Going straight from a benchtop dc power supply I can get it to boot up with 12.8V at the lowest. But it's not really a clean supply, and for some reason gives me a red/orange mixed power off led rather than the standard red....so odd I'll do some testing on the wii psu itself later and then check over the parts info for the dc-dc converter I have. Also still no luck with the battery :/

It could be interference from the boost regulator. Try adding some capacitors on the output.
