Possible to fit Wii Classic Controller guts into SNES shell?

I mean it seems like the control pads and abxy buttons are in the same positions on both. Start and Select and L and R would have to be done another way though.

I think I've seen this done before, but I can't find the link for it right now. Only required some minor grinding, IIRC.

I'm pretty sure I can remove the analog sticks with no problems, but I'm not sure what is safe to grind down.

the bottom prongs of the board could be a little difficult.

Also, can anyone confirm weather removing the analoge parts of the triggers would cause any problems

I can. I just tested this on Super Mario World on the Virtual Console as well as changing the pages on the Wii menu. The analog part of the triggers are not needed.

Here are some pictures of the inside of the Classic Controller:

I'm thinking I can cut away at these areas (above the blue lines I drew) to help squeeze the thing into the SNES controller shell.

I don't currently have anything to cut with, however.

Any ideas on something to replace the Select and Start button contacts? Maybe cut that part off of the original SNES pcb?
