Since I got Guitar Hero 5, I've dusted off my World Tour guitar, but an old issue has returned with it. Long story short, after a while of playing, the guitar will randomly cut-out on button holds, and strum the strummer without me even touchng it. I'll change the batteries, and blamo, suddenly I'm Mozart again. THing is though, it seems like this only works for about 2 hours before I need to change them out again. Is that normal?
Regardless, I'm going to make an AC adapter mod, unless someone says "holy crap! Don't do that!" followed by a reasonable explaination.
thanks!

Re: How long does your GH guitar last?
That's definitely not normal. I played through GHWT twice (guitar, bass) on one set of batteries without recharging.
I'm honestly not aware of issues with the WT or GH5 guitar (they are internally identical, I believe) but the Les Paul that came with GH3 had A TON of problems. The pins on the neck would lose contact (sometimes they would suck even brand new) and you'd miss notes. And I went through three of those in a month due to tilt-sensor issues (SP would either never fire off or instantly fire off as soon as you got it.
I can't explain the accidental strumming, but to find out if you've got a neck pin issue, do this: Pick any song. As soon as it starts and the note highway appears, hold one button at a time and wiggle the neck. If the pins aren't connecting right, the light on that color will flicker out. With the old Les Paul, it tends to happen with the green button more than the others.

Re: How long does your GH guitar last?
i had the problematic GH3 guitar. I ended up replacing all the buttons in the neck with my own custom buttons (i posted pics of it somewhere on here). I use a WT guitar now, and I think i figured out what was causing the problems. While playing a song, I noticed that the blue tap button was randomly flashing on screen. I let go of the guitar and the thing was playing itself. I think I'm just gonna take out the tap buttons all together since i never use them.

You mean the slider section? Good call, it stinks anyway.

well that blew up in my face. removing the slider section resulted in a chaos of signals being sent. don't remove that.
