Wii SDHC PROBLEM [EDIT] DONT BUY SDHC, THEY DONT WORK ON Wii

Post by colosalblack » Mon Dec 22, 2008 4:40 pm

Hi,
I bought a 4gb sdhc card and the bloody wii wont read it. Ive looked around for tutorials on the net like Beta9 but that requires a modchip and i dont have one. I only have the Twilight Hack.
any suggestions?

thanks

I do not think the wii supports SDHC.

Do you have the latest firmware update?

Most likely not. Unless someone came up with a way to actually patch the firmware, the best you could hope for is an interim solution that would facilitate communication with SDHC cards, but I am not sure that would be possible.

Get a 2gb SD card is the best solution, you can get them for less than $10 shipped.

SDHC only works on homebrew programs (a lot of the emulators do, things that make some use of the extra space), the actual Wii (for saves and other normal Wii crap) doesn't recognize an SDHC card.
SNESp - 100%
Protable X - 15% - I need money :(

The reason I bought a 4gig card is because i have a friend who used one. Apparently ther do make SOME sd cards more than 2 gig but their not sandisk original. I kinda needed the space because my 2 gig was starting to fill up. but oh whell i'll just have to stay with 2 gig. I have one last cuestion: If i buy a Micro sdhc and put it in a sd adapter, will it read as if it was a sdhc or a sd??

thanks

the i'll have to buy one of those... oh whell it only cost me 12 € so its okay

[EDIT] I just bought one! A 2gb Lexar to be exact. it works great and it only cost me 8 € so when i ru out of space i'll buy another one for that price! PLUS I have a christmas present for my brother :P

SO FOR ALL OF YOU THAT NEED MORE THAN 2 GB DONT GET AN SD HC ONE!!
