Or, you can route it through a laptop, and there "may" be a hack for the Linksys WRT54G wireless router to act as a repeater for it. Gotta look into that.
i don't know if this is too late or not but here is an artical for hacking the wrt54g wifi router to work as a adapter

i already have a wrt54g router, however, i would need another to use as the AP. But i was looking into other dongles to use internally for my 360 laptop project. thanks for the info though. i might be able to use it in iraq.

Buy a new router, cheaper than a 360 wireless adaptor.

Also, the WRT54G has hardly anything inside it, and it is very thin. Easy to fit inside a 360 laptop.

the problem with that is it will not fit into my current setup. i would need a new box for the 360. its a good idea, but i just dont have the room.

Would there be room if you knocked down some of those caps like Ben did?

Okay, here's my ingenious idea.
Put it in the power brick.
You'll need to make or find a bigger brick, but that's not hard.

wouldn't the power brick have too much of a magnetic field and interfere with the wireless router?

I have a big power brick next to a WiFi router.

No effect, from what I can tell. :/

This is pretty easy to test, and I think it's worth a try if simply CAN'T fit something else in your case, even if it's wafer thin.

udder failure....

that describes saturday. i had the rrod before i tried to fix it, so i went from the "fix", bolts and washers, back to the x clamp. unfortunately, that didnt work. i am getting error code 0022, cpu or tsop failure. no idea how to fix this. i tried cleaning it and putting new thermal paste on it, but i have no clue what could have caused this. the xbox 360 worked just fine inside the box, it did this after the "mod". any suggestions?

mmm u did the clamp fix, there is a good few ways to do that one, there is a good few vids on yourutbe of different ways to do it, also u could get better pads for the bottom of the mobo, where the 4 chips are located, there is packs for that, what else,

i also found this on a forum

"i fixed a 0020 last week, going to fix another in a few hours
Error means there is a Bridge under the GPU/CPR/RAM, so i heat gunned the RAM area and it fixed it instantly, i had to heat gun 2 times as the first time it didn't work...
0022 can be either CPU/GPU the error code is not specific to the GPU..."

and apparently disconecting the dvd rom boots the box, in some cases,
