Another wii question

Post by Loki » Sun Nov 23, 2008 2:09 pm

Im working on the wii latop for the second time (first blew up). And everything was going as planned whne the wii started to act funny. I was testing my screen and i was getting pictures and i had a short. I desolder everything i had on there and now when i have the power pluged in i get my red light but when i hit the power button it turns off... completely. No light no power, only to the screen which is hooked up to the wii. So i took the screen off and the wii still does it. I thought there might be a short with the video single inside the pins (i have the organial av plug/sensor bar still on) so i decided to desolder it and i did. The wii still does it and im stumped. Any help/ ideas?

Have you soldered to the wii itself?
sounds like you might have shorted something out
(i don't think it's fried just because it still goes on standby)
you might just have to just a protection circuit or something like that
:? sorry but you got to be more specific...
(PS sorry that your first wii blew up, but you might be having a potentially similar problem here)

I'd need pics to see what is wrong (you know, what happened where and why) Pics are always good...
I can't really make any conclusions without them. Sorry :?
