Post by stanokaka » Sat Jun 19, 2010 3:47 pm

Ok so, recently i decided to build my own Wii laptop, but first i need some help on a few things.

1)How long does it take to build a Wii laptop?
2)Does anyone know were i can get the case and all the equipment needed?
3)What is the name of the monitor that benheck used to build his?
4)How much does a Wii laptop sell for?

Thank You and please answer my questions ASAP.

1. If you have to ask, it will probably take too long. It is all based on your knowledge and skills.

2. Be resourceful! You can get the plastic from pretty much anywhere like at your house or any hardware store. All the equipment like routers, dremels, saws, sandpaper, epoxy, paint can all be bought at a hardware store.

3. The screen is not a monitor as the Wii doesn't output digital signals. There are 7" car screens with composite input.

4. If you're looking to make money off of this project, it probably wont happen. There is a lot of time and money in making portables.

There is a pretty limited market for these things. If you want something to bring in the big bucks, it has to be something that won't fall apart, looks good, and functions correctly.
Wii laptops aren't really in demand, as far as I know. Most Wii games are best played on screens quite a bit bigger than the Wii itself. That makes the easiest solution a briefcase with a ~19" screen , Wii, and accessories strapped into it.

The screen needs to have a composite, s-video, or component input. That's what the Wii outputs.

What would be easiest to connect to the Wii?

As thin as possible with a big nice screen, and good battery life with great looks
