Alright, as a Mac guy who likes Blu-Ray, I feel quite qualified to answer this.

First, which revision of the Mini do you have? Earlier versions had PATA (the older interface) while newer versions have SATA (newer interface). You'd need a different drive depending on which of these two interfaces you've got.

Second, have you considered getting an external? Slot-load Blu-Ray drives are pretty expensive and can be hard to find.

Third, Blu-Ray on the Mac might not be what you were looking for. There isn't a way to just pop in a disc and play it (in Mac OS X, obviously you could just install Windows and then you'd have a few choices in Blu-Ray player software). However, you can certainly rip Blu-Rays to your hard drive then play them with something like Plex. You can also burn Blu-Rays if you get something along the lines of Roxio's Toast burning suite.

Finally, this IS in the wrong section, but there is no need to bite his head off.

Fight MS Paint abominations! If you don't have a camera, go here, and pick something 3 megapixels or higher.

Actually, on the Mac Mini's optical drive, the PATA connector doesn't look like that. It looks like this:

Just to alleviate any potential confusion for the OP. The SATA connector is the same though.

Or, even easier, just go to the Apple menu, click on "About This Mac", then click on "More Info". You'll be looking under Hardware at the category called "Model Identifier".
Macmini 1,1 or 2,1 - PATA drive.
Macmini 3,1 or 4,1 - SATA drive.
