fastest memory setup?
Moderator:Moderators
what is the best possible to hook up memory acording to speed.no price limit.not ram permanent memory
Re: fastest memory setup?
RAM is generally called memory, hard/flash drives are generally called storage.
A fast SSD hooked up with SATA. Even better would be 2 (or more) fast SSDs hooked up in RAID 0 via SATA.

Re: fastest memory setup?
what about pcie 8x raid and ssd's memory
Re: fastest memory setup?
SCSI doesn't look much faster than SATA, and I don't know if there are any SCSI SSDs available. You could probably match or exceed PCI Express flash based storage using multiple SSDs in RAID 0 on SATA. They use the same concept, except multiple SATA SSDs will be cheaper and won't take up a PCI Express slot with most motherboards.windwaker wrote:what about scsi and more ssd's or pcie 8x memory
Why are you asking?

thank you,oh and sorry for underestimating your geek skills

If your computer uses PATA, I'd say go with Compact flash. Its natively compatible with PATA, it's fast and small, and it's low on power drain. Further then that you can find Compact flash cards in sizeds as large as 128GB.
Honestly I've thought of the idea of building a server years ago that would have a Compact flash drive for the main OS, and lock that making it near impossible to hack or shut down. Doubt that's why you want it but it's a cool use.
