Media Center PC

Hello !

This is my first post here. I decided to share with you my new project. My old PC will be moved to new small case. Though the hardware is not so small, so I tried to make it as small as possible.

Hardware:

- AMD Athlon XP 2000+ (1.6ghz)
- ATX Mobo
- 200gb HDD
- GeForce 3

I had some old PC's hanging around, and I aim to spend almost no money on it so I found these parts:

- TV-Card with IR remote.
- Some USB cards on PCI
- WiFi card
- Some spare fans
- Optical Drives. Standard size.
- Some nice A/V cables I will need for relocating female plugs.

So for now this projects costs me 0$. I have a big Full-HD television in my home so I decided to look for HD graphics card with hardware HD decoder. So I can watch full HD vids with this (A bit) old PC.

I thought I will make a nice trackball slipping off from faceplate. Or a ultra slim keyboard. But I will left it as is, just buy (some time) nice wireless Keyboard. Maybe add some functional buttons (eject, play, etc) and IR-reader for turning on this thing. I have no electronical skills, but I am programmer. Maybe if I sell this thing I will make another portable Media Center PC with these features.

Here is a quick sketch made in Ketchup of my idea. I finished paper technical sketches for company to cut it off but now I found new company that will laser-cut it. With all those holes I need. So I am working on AutoCAD professional sketch. As I have not much money for it and there is no complains it must be finished. Maybe its not a beauty, first of all it MUST DISPLAY VIDEOS ON TV! :)

It's like 520x300x190. What do you think ?

I will post here any worklog as I made any work on it :)
