I use Bullguard Gamers Edition. It cost me AUD$19 for 1 yr. Its a full AntiVirus, AntiSpyware, Spam Filter and Firewall. Plus you get a 1GB online storage on their servers, And it has a Gaming mode that detects when your "In-Game" and wont bother you with notifications like recently updated, etc.

Use Avast!, since it is free and works well, and use Malware Byte's Anti-Malware, to clean up the rest of the viruses that Avast! does not get. The best part is they are all free and Malware Byte's Anti-Malware does not run in the background, it just runs when you want to scan for viruses.

I normally use AVG on my windows computers. But since finding Comodo, I'm thinking of switching.
Comodo has a neat optimization scan feature so scans don't take so long.
Sandbox, kind of like a quarantine, but the program is still allowed to work.
A little better interface then AVG
And it's free!

P.S. They also have a cool Backup program, anyone using Windows should check it out.

I don't! But then again, my only Windows partition is Windows Me, which I hardly use, and don't download things on. So, yeah. I don't need one, and I especially don't want one considering this is a 700MHz machine.

Fight MS Paint abominations! If you don't have a camera, go here, and pick something 3 megapixels or higher.

Yeah; I'm fully aware of the risks; I like that it's faster.jdmlight wrote:Didn't you watch those videos in high school health??nevermind1534 wrote:I go unprotected

Re: Which Antivirus Software do you use ? Why?
I don't run antivirus on my beater laptop. Why?
1. Windows 2000. A lot of the common scareware viruses (Security Tool, Total Internet Security Vista 2010, etc) don't seem to do anything on it.
2. It's old and slow: 650 mhz P3 with an 8 MB S3 video chipset. Enough to run Goldsrc games, and that's about it.
3. It mainly serves as a TeamViewer thin client to my home PC. When it's not doing that, it's running Opera, Vent, Office 4, or VLC Media Player.
4. The entire OS and all the software I installed is only about 4 gigs. It would take 10 minutes to reimage it with Clonezilla.
5. I'm careful and I don't use Facebook or Limewire. (Those two are the worst virus portals, in my experience.)
6. I don't save anything to it, so even if it did get messed up it's no big deal.
My desktop at home still uses Malwarebytes and Antivir, though.

AVG Free - small, powerful, and FREE! maybe not the best one out there, but thats a mute issue seeing as (i think) any antivirus wont catch everything. i could be wrong, but i dont think there is a way to block EVERYTHING.

I vote for AVG.
AVG is my favourite free Antivirus. It has a very good definition update. System uses very little system resources and it has a full time protection utility with on access file scanner and e-mail scanner. The program won't tax your system when scanning or when running in the background and always proves effective. The interface is simple to navigate.
