Hey Benheckers! I really wanted to know if anyone would be interested in possibly creating a
video...game...
I understand that most games never become anything... and this might not either, but I really think that if we all grouped together we could really make something cool.
Anyone?

Once i hack something i'll put it here. haha
Roses are red, violets are blue. wait. I thought they were violet? and aren't there white roses? wtf?!?

Every portableizer and mod could be a character! SS's weapon could be a glue gun. Black Six could say: "CUH-CUH-CUH-CLOSERIZED!" when he defeats people, etc.
Cheers,

It should be a retro-style fighter, with members as characters. Or maybe a deathmatch shooter.
I think a benheck mod would be easier though, but that's just me.

Look, I tried this a few months with project LASER. It never went anywhere, and I went as far as to make a core team with jobs and all, and a concept discussion thread, and concept art. It will just not go anywhere.

Excellent

the only way this will ever get off the ground is if its something simple, like a doom mod, or maybe a half-life 2 reskin. if its entirely new, it will fail.

We could just make a small flash game or an 8/ 16 bit simple pixilated one.
Cheers,

That just reminded me of Super Smash Bros Brawl texture hacking. It is not too hard, look up the results via google, it is amazing stuff. I kinda wanna make a texture hack of me.

collision based combat is quite difficult are you talkign 3d or 2d. 3D leads to clipping issues and collision zones withing 2d is a pain in the ass. The collision box is usally drawn to the scene not the charecter liek in 3d therefore to move the 2d char you also have to move the collision points.
FYI if you wanna see some of my work i just put up.

Honestly, if this were pinned and some talented members backed this 100%, we could get this going smoothly. I'm all for a simple reskin of SSB, but the problem with that would be the limited amount of characters. I'd want to be in there somewhere, but I'm nowhere near as big as SS or Palmer.
Reskinning something as low-quality (graphics-wise) as SSB wouldn't be too hard, assuming we kept the character models and moves.

Most game-making programs suck the big one.
ESPECIALLY those crappy anime-styled ones. Ugh.

Game Maker actually is a pretty good one. You have a lot of control and script in something similar to C.
I think we should make an AssaultCube mod with hot glue guns and such. And who else is with me for blown circuit board nades?
